Avid announced Pro Tools 9 at their press conference during AES. Biggest news for PT since its inception, now you can use Pro Tools without a avid or digidesign branded interface, including your built in laptop sound card. Also no more LE/M-powered, just “Pro Tools 9″ and “Pro Tools 9 HD,” now everyone finally gets to roll like the big boys with ADC and tracks for days, plus I can rock my HD license on the go (without TDM hardware connected) with the same iLok license.
I have to admit, I was losing a bit of faith in the company since Avid regained total control and rebranded everything, but it looks like they are finally stepping it up to re-secure their strong hold on the World’s Top DAW.

Congrats to the boys in Freeschool for writing and producing such a great track “Messy Little Raindrops,” you guys rock! I did the presentation mix and some Pro Tools editing on this song, courtesy of production and grammy award winning super-crew Freeschool, keep those hits coming guys.
